The Story Behind The Book
It is heartbreaking to see the scenes of devastation coming out of Abaco following Hurricane Dorian’s landfall. Such pain and suffering on behalf of it’s natives. Having just vacationed in the Abacos in the Winter of 2018, it’s mind blowing to see how such an idyllic tropical island which is liken to “heaven on Earth” be leveled into oblivion only a few short months later.
We knew we couldn’t sit idly by. We had to help with their recovery. What better way than to share our Abaco experience through the eyes of our two year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Maximilian? We decided to memorialize what Abaco was like before the hurricane and share our personal adventures with the world.
All the profits from Maxi’s book will be given directly for relief to immediate plans for large scale debris removal, building WASH systems and identifying and rebuilding schools and other structures such as health and veterinary clinics.

About The Author
Jacelyn Botti has published a non-profit children’s picture book of her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel’s travels to the Abaco Islands in December 2018 for monetary relief from Hurricane Dorian’s devastation which occurred September of the following year. This endeavor would only be possible because of the spirit and vitality of the Bahamian people. They made such a positive lifelong memory for the Botti family, friends and crew. First and foremost, this children’s book was written as a testament to the magical world and experience they created for us. God bless their courage to face the challenges that lie ahead and their resilience to restore the island’s beauty.
About Maximilian
Maximilian Botti is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was born on April 17th, 2017 in Amarillo Texas. Maximilian (Maxi) greets everybody with a smile, wagging tail and a few licks! Maxi’s favorite things to do are riding in the car, motoring on the ship, flying on planes, driving on the tender and chewing his bullychews. Maxi hangs around with his Mom most everywhere she goes. Maxi has traveled to dozens of marinas up and down the east coast of the USA including the various Bahama Islands including Abaco. He has very fond memories of the events described in this book. Maxi is grateful to you for your humanitarian support to Abaco.
